Project Grant Funding Guidelines  

Project Grant amounts range from $200 - $1200. Farm Community Fund provides Project Grants to initiatives that advance one or more of the following areas:  

  • farms, land, and local food systems—initiatives that serve farms, protect land, or connect people to local food systems 

  • fitness and outdoor recreation—projects that cultivate or support active lifestyles 

  • community characteristics—projects that highlight an aspect of local heritage or culture 

What we fund 

Project-related expenses including materials, supplies, marketing, planning, space and equipment rental, or general operating costs. 

Eligibility and Selection  

Any nonprofit organization, school, church, municipality, or community group may apply. Projects that advance the above funding priorities are selected at the discretion of the Farm Community Fund and as funds are available.  

Requirements 

All Project Grant recipients must:  

  • submit a completed form w-9 before the funds will be released 

  • submit a signed Funding Agreement before funds will be released 

  • complete the Final Report within 30 days of the funds being spent 

Application Deadlines 

We accept applications year-round. Applications received before July 31, 2021 will be considered for grants awarded in October 2021. Applications received after August 1, 2021 will be considered for grants paid in October 2022.

Within 30 days of receiving an application we will notify the applicant with a “yes” or “no” decision. Grant amounts are determined in September and grants are paid via check in October. 

We recommend applying during our planning season, January 1 – March 31, 2021.

Farm to Fork Fondo Benefit Guidelines  

The Farm Community Fund works with Farm to Fork Fitness Adventures to raise money for initiatives in the host communities. Organizations with a strong volunteer base may consider applying to benefit from a Farm to Fork Fondo when one is happening in their area. Amounts raised from these events vary, and beneficiaries can expect to raise between $1000 and $3000 on event day.

The Farm Community Fund seeks to support projects that advance one or more of our priority areas:

  • farms, land, and local food systems—initiatives that serve farms, protect land, or connect people to local food systems 

  • fitness and outdoor recreation—projects that cultivate or support active lifestyles 

  • community characteristics—projects that highlight an aspect of local heritage or culture

Eligibility and Selection  

Any nonprofit organization, school, church, municipality, or community group with an eligible project may apply to benefit from a Farm to Fork Fondo. The benefitting organization must be present on event day, be able to provide volunteers to support the cyclists at registration, aid stations, and the finish line, and demonstrate the mission of the organization or project through creative team spirit.
